I started making collages out of my mother's Vogue and Glamour magazines in late 2009.
Not for the first time, I was annoyed at the idealized picture of women. ('The Revlon girls' is a series I made for TILU.) Once you start looking, the shallowness is everywhere. And plus, I'm not white!
Reconciling the idea of image of the self with today's marketing mantras about branding is tough.
What's authenticity mean? Who are we if not the labels we buy?
'TODAY I LOVE YOU' explores these questions.
